Delhi Ashram Flyover Extension Finally Opens Corridors; Commuters Rejoice

The much awaited Delhi Ashram flyover extension has finally been inaugurated by Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. This six lane flyover extension has brought a lot of relief to the commuters between Delhi and Noida.

It is also believed that the Ashram flyover is one of the most busiest sections in Delhi NCR as it acts as a connection between the DND flyway and the Mathura Road. This flyover was announced to be shut from January 1st, initially for a 45-day stretch, as the traffic authorities were working to link it with the extension a few meters ahead.

“Woes of people have ended, those coming from Noida can reach AIIMS (hospital) sooner after Ashram flyover extension opening,” Kejriwal quoted to a leading news daily at the inauguration event.

The traffic advisory mentioned that only light vehicles will be allowed on the Ashram flyover extension at the moment. Officials did not shed any light on when heavy vehicles will be allowed on this route.

The flyover extension is anticipated to cut travel time between South Delhi and Noida by approximately 25 minutes. This news was beckoned with rejoice by the commuters in Delhi NCR and the social media was soon seen to be flooded with appreciation posts as soon as the inauguration was completed.

Aam Aadmi Party also took to Twitter to share an aerial view of Delhi’s flyover and mentioned, “Delhi’s biggest bottleneck now cleared. With the commencement of the Ashram flyover extension, 3 red lights have been eliminated giving a major relief to commuters!”
